DOLE releases P6.2 million for salary of Tupad workers in Bayawan

THE Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE) has released a total of P6,264,000 for the salary of 720 workers who rendered community service in line with the agency's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) program in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

The TUPAD beneficiaries were hired for 20 days to do community services such as the cleaning of roads, canals and the trimming of tree branches in the 28 barangays in the city for 20 days.

They started working from the third week of August until September 4.

Maria Teresa Tanquiamco, officer-in-charge of DOLE Negros Oriental field office, said the beneficiaries were paid P435 for each day of work or a total of P8,700 for 20 days. (PAC)
