Donnie Wahlberg’s proposal blunder

Donnie Wahlberg made a mortifying mistake when he proposed.

The View co-host Jenny McCarthy announced her engagement to Donnie during an episode of the ABC talk show in April.

Jenny revealed how Donnie, 44, asked her to marry him during an interview on Australia’s Jackie O radio show on Monday, explaining not everything went to plan.

“I was sitting on the couch doing what every girl does saying, 'Tell me how much you love me,' when he left the room,” the actress explained. “He and my son Evan came running back in holding a piece of paper saying ‘Will’."

Donnie and Evan then ran out of the room again and returned carrying another piece of paper with the word “You” on it.

“Then disappeared and ran back in with another piece of paper that read ‘Mary’, but misspelled it without the second R,” Jenny laughed.

Donnie then put on a T-shirt that read “Me” and Jenny started to cry.

The New Kids on the Block singer has previously joked that the couple’s nuptials won’t be anything like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s recent Florence event.

"We'll have a small wedding in a really beautiful place and we both want do it right this time," Donnie told Extra. "We've both been married before and we want to make it special - this is the last wedding."

Jenny agreed that she wants something simple. “I won’t have three dresses. No seven dresses, not going to happen… that’s their thing, good for them," she said.

Recently, Jenny received an invitation from restaurant chain Applebee’s to have her wedding at one of its locations.

“I thought it was very cute that Applebee's tweeted us, so we went in on it, we actually said maybe we should have them do the appetisers," Jenny told Extra.
