Western European powerhouse OG Esports announced on Wednesday (11 May) that they will be competing in the upcoming ESL One Stockholm Major with the two-time The International (TI) champion duo of Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and Sébastien "Ceb" Debs.

N0tail and Ceb will serve as OG's stand-ins for the Stockholm Major after Mikhail "Misha" Agatov and Evgenii "Chuvash" Makarov's visas were denied, barring them from participating in the tournament.

Ceb will take over Misha as the team's position 5 support player while N0tail will be the coach in place of Chuvash.

N0tail and Ceb will be making their informal return to the Dota 2 competitive scene after they both stepped away from pro play in November last year.

Ceb previously announced his retirement from professional Dota 2 due to a lack of competitive drive while N0tail said he will take a health break from the competitive scene for at least a year.

With all of OG's two-time TI-winning roster now either retired, on a break, or playing on other teams, the organisation's new roster comprised of prodigies and rising veterans have flourished.

"A strange day for the history of OG Dota. In today's current climate, veterans and newer faces alike will need to join forces to keep the #DreamOG alive," OG said in a statement.

"But the OG family is never far away. For the first time ever, the fathers of our colors will come carrying the banners themselves alongside our young prodigies."

No further information was provided as to why Misha and Chuvash, both Russian citizens, had their visas denied.

OG will be entering the Stockholm Major as the first seed of Western Europe after they finished the 2021-2022 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Spring Tour regional league with a 6-1 match record and 13-2 game record.

OG will start the Major's Group Stage in Group A alongside regional rivals Tundra Esports, Southeast Asian teams BOOM Esports and T1, North America's Evil Geniuses, South America's Beastcoast, and Eastern Europe's Team BetBoom.

The ESL One Stockholm Major will kick off on 12 May. For everything you need to know about the tournament, check here.
