ABOUT P255,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated from a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation by the Mandaue City Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Monday, May 30, 2022 in Sitio Superior, Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

Major Philip John Libres, chief of Station 5 of the Mandaue City Police Office in Barangay Opao, identified the suspect as Williard "Wawing" Dacules Cuyos, 44, of Sitio Itum Yuta, Barangay Lorega, Cebu City.

Libres said Cuyos was capable of disposing about 30 to 50 grams of shabu per week.

It was learned that the suspect was also arrested in 2018 for allegedly selling drugs in Lilo-an town and was released on March 3, 2020 through plea bargain.

Cuyos reportedly contacted his customers through text or chat and personally delivered the drugs to them.

In an interview with the media, Cuyos said he was forced to go back to selling drugs due to financial hardship.

He said selling illegal drugs was his only source of income to feed his family. But he deeply regretted what he did.

Cuyos will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (HIC, TPT)
