TO HELP micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) thrive amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu vowed to sustain its Negosyo Center program by launching two additional centers in 2021, bringing this year’s total to five.

After launching three Negosyo Centers in the province of Cebu in 2020, the DTI Cebu has launched new Negosyo Centers in Argao, Dumanjug and Barili this year.

Two new centers will be launched in Liloan and Samboan before 2021 ends.

Republic Act 10644 (the Go Negosyo Act) mandates the creation of Negosyo Centers in every municipality, city and province in the Philippines to help grow the MSME sector, which accounts for around 99 percent of registered businesses in the country.

The DTI Cebu recently launched Negosyo Centers in Argao and Dumanjug.

The second Negosyo Center launched this year is the one in Argao, where MSMEs can visit to avail business development programs and services amidst the pandemic.

Negosyo Centers aim to promote ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for MSMEs through business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation, DTI Cebu said in its press release.

Meanwhile, a new Negosyo Center in Dumanjug is the 3rd in the Seventh District of Cebu, joining the existing centers in the neighboring municipalities of Moalboal and Alegria.

For 2021, the DTI Cebu launched Negosyo Centers in Dumanjug, Argao, Barili and will launch new centers in Liloan and Samboan in the first week of December.

These five new centers will push the number of Negosyo Centers to over 30. Other Negosyo Centers are located in the cities of Cebu, Bogo, Carcar, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga, Talisay and Toledo; municipalities of Santa Fe, Daanbantayan, San Remigio, Tuburan, Dalaguete, Sogod, Borbon, Tabogon, Tabuelan, Medellin, Madridejos, Bantayan, Poro, Tudela, Pilar, Moalboal, Balamban, and Consolacion.
