THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu noted that the buying frenzy of face masks has finally died down as they urged local pharmacies to continue stocking supplies.
DTI Cebu Provincial Officer-in-Charge Rosemae Quiñanola told SunStar Cebu they are monitoring the supply and demand in the region.
As of their Feb. 6, 2020 monitoring, Watsons and SouthStar Pharmacy had stocks of face masks and were selling these within the price range set by the Department of Health.
In Cebu City, there are more than 10 branches of Watsons and SouthStar found in Robinsons mall branches.
Meanwhile, only three of the seven establishments found selling overpriced face masks that were issued show-cause orders have replied.
Their responses will be forwarded to the DTI counsel while the others will also be endorsed.
The pharmacies in question will be endorsed to DTI's legal unit for evaluation. (JOB)
