Duno stops journeyman in comeback

ROMERO Duno had a successful ring return after a quick opening round knockout of former World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth super flyweight titleholder Angelito Merin in the main event of “Redemption” last Feb. 29 at the Lagao Gym in Gen. Santos City.

The 24-year-old Duno gets a confidence-building win after suffering a quick knockout in the hands of Ryan Garcia last Nov. 2, 2019.

Duno is trying to work his way back into the world rankings after dropping out of it following his loss to Garcia.

Duno improved to 22-2 with 17 knockouts, while Merin dropped to 10-13-3 with four knockouts.

Jayson Mama (15-0, 8 KOs), on the other hand, continues his unbeaten streak following a third-round stoppage of Reymark Taday (10-12-1, 5 KOs) in the co-headliner. 9
