SINGAPORE — The police have arrested a 39-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman for allegedly slashing a man with a knife along Yishun Avenue 6 and then fleeing from the crime scene.

In a news release on Monday (4 October), the police said the victim, who was known to the suspects, had several cuts and was sent to hospital.

Officers tracked the alleged culprits within four hours and seized the knife which was purportedly used in the crime.

The police said the male suspect will be charged in court on Tuesday with causing hurt with a dangerous weapon while investigations against his alleged accomplice are ongoing.

If found guilty of the offence, the man may face a jail term of up to seven years along with a fine and caning.
