MANILA, Philippines – The Duterte administration received a Very Good (67%) Net Satisfaction Rating in the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
This indicates that three of four Filipinos are still contented with the way the government is running under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Although the rating went down six points from the excellent rating of 73% in June 2019, still a big number of Filipinos said they are satisfied with the administration’s performance.
Based on the survey, the administration got “very good” rating in helping the poor (+62), providing the information needed by the citizens to properly examine what the government is doing (+54), and having clear policies (+53).
The administration received “excellent” rating in Metro Manila. Although it dipped a little in Mindanao, Luzon, and the Visayas.
The survey was conducted on September 27 – 30, 2019 among 1,800 respondents nationwide.
Malacañang said the latest survey shows that the public is capable of identifying then truth despite the continues politicking of the opposition against the government.
Meanwhile, Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said earning high rating is not a priority of the President.
He said performing the duties entrusted to the President remains as his yardstick of good governance.
“The President has repeatedly said “I’m not here for any popularity contest. It doesn’t affect me at all, whether my rating comes down or goes up, what is important is there is a job to do and I do it in accordance with the dictates of the constitution,” Panelo said.
