ROLANDO Dy looks to log his second straight win in the Brave CF cage as he takes on Kiwi John Brewin in Brave CF 44 at the National Stadium in Bahrain on Nov. 5.
Dy is coming off a split decision win over Maciek Gierszewski on Sept. 24 in his sixth fight in the Middle East.
Dy started to campaign in the Middle East in 2019 after being cut by the UFC after four fights. He went 1-3 in the UFC, with his lone win against Chinese Wuliji Buren.
The 29-year-old Dy won his first three fights in the Middle East, beating Jordanian Izzeddine Al Derbani, Pakistani Memosh Raza and Kazakh Erzhan Estanov. He then dropped his next two contests against South Korean Do Gyeom Lee and Russian Anzor Abdulkhozhaev in 2019 before winning against Gierszewski.
Brewin is a winner of back-to-back fights. He beat Cian Cowley by split decision and beat Gierszewski, Dy’s last opponent, via a first round armbar. Brewin, however, hasn’t fought for a year.
Dy, the son of Pinoy boxing legend Rolando Navarrete, is 13-9, in which six of his wins are via stoppages, while Brewin is 6-1. (EKA)
