FILIPINO MMA star Rolando Dy faces Kazakh knockout artist Adysalam Kubanychiev in a lightweight title eliminator in the main event of Brave CF 47 on March 11, 2021 in Bahrain.

The 29-year-old Dy is one of the hottest fighters in the organization right now, winning both of his fights in 2020.

He beat Maciek Gierszewski by split decision on Sept. 24, 2020 and then defeated John Brewin by unanimous decision on Nov. 5.

Dy, the son of boxing legend Rolando Navarette, made a name for himself in the Philippine MMA scene by fighting in the PXC.

Dy got noticed and was signed by the UFC in 2017. He made his debut for the biggest MMA organization in the world on June 17, 2017 against Ultimate fighter alum Alex Caceres. He lost via a second round stoppage due to an eye injury.

Dy dropped his next fight in the UFC with a unanimous decision defeat in the hands of Teruto Ishihara.

He finally got his first win in the UFC with a unanimous decision over Buren Wuliji but lost to Shane Young in 2018 via a second round stoppage.

Dy was cut by the UFC after a 1-3 campaign. He, however, found his way in the Middle East and revived his rocky MMA career.

Nine wins

Kubanychiev is currently on a blistering streak, winning nine straight fights including three bouts in the Brave CF.

Kubanychiev made his Brave CF debut in 2019 with a stoppage win over Brazilian Joao Paulo Rodrigues.

He followed it up with a first round knockout win over Vagif Askerov in 2020 and submitted Jahongir Saidjamolov in the second round via a rear-naked choke just last Jan. 16, 2021.

Dy is 14-9 with six of his wins were by knockout or submission, while Kubanychiev is 17-3 with 14 of his victories won by either knockout or submission.

The winner of the Dy vs. Kubanychiev fight will earn the mandatory challenger status against Brave CF lightweight champion Amin Ayoub (15-4).(EKA)
