FORMER UFC fighter Rolando Dy’s road to a title shot has been derailed after losing to Abdisalam Uuulu Kubanychbek in a lightweight title eliminator in the main event of Brave CF 47: “Asian Domination” on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Bahrain.

Kubanychbek forced the 30-year-old Dy to quit on his stool after two rounds of action.

Kubanychbek boxed beautifully and took Dy to the ground to unleash some vicious punches and elbows. The 26-year-old Kyrgyz ended the first round on a high note with an emphatic body slam.

Dy, the son of Filipino boxing legend Rolando Navarrete, had some success with his boxing in the second round. However, Kubanychbek displayed his world-class wrestling and took down Navarrete to the ground.

At the break, Dy remained on his stool and didn’t want to continue, forcing the referee to end the fight and give Kubanychbek the

stoppage win.

Dy, the Brave CF 2020 “Fighter of the Year,” dropped to 14-10-1, while Kubanychbek improved to 17-2 and is now the mandatory challenger of Brave CF lightweight champion Amin Ayoub.

Meanwhile, Jenel Lausa, also a Filipino former UFC fighter, lost to last minute replacement Ryskulbek Ibraimov by unanimous decision.

Ibraimov, who made his Brave CF debut, got the nod of all three judges with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Lausa dropped to 7-6, while Ibraimov is now 18-4 after the win. (EKA)
