Jean proves to be a liability behind the wheel, while Sharon gets to know her new bro. Plus a pep talk from Phil leads to Kush making a big decision ahead of his spell in the slammer.
It’s all you need to know about EastEnders in the week of 5-9 April, 2021:
Jean’s road rage
While there’s always an element of unpredictability to Jean’s behaviour, she seems an unlikely candidate to be having a full-on Falling Down moment.

And yet she’s about to feel real rage bubbling up when Sharon criticises her and Mo’s cleaning work at the gym. After getting behind the wheel of a delivery van, Jean then deliberately crashes the vehicle, much to Mo’s horror. But why has she made this rash move?
Sharon gets to know Zack
Sharon has traditionally been defined by the men in her life and there are two who are set to be holding her interest in the week ahead.
First, she’s agreeing to meet Kheerat for a drink (do we prefer #Sharat or #Khearon for their relationship hashtag?). And then there’s a reappearance from Zack, her new-found brother, who swipes Sharon’s keys, searches her bedroom and then reveals that their late dad Gavin has left them something in his will.

All very mysterious, but it’s likely to give Sharon plenty of cause to pout and flare her eyeballs in shock…
Isaac blasts meddling Sheree
Since his schizophrenia was revealed to viewers, Isaac has taken a bit of a back seat. But he and his medical condition are coming to the fore again when Sheree warns Lola that Patrick must remain ignorant about the diagnosis.
Sheree also isn’t keen on Patrick taking part in clinical trials for stroke medication, but when Isaac finds out that his mum has been interfering and having secret conversations with Lola, he snaps. Patrick should be making his own decisions, argues Isaac.
Lola, meanwhile, reveals all about Isaac’s schizophrenia to Peter, who questions whether taking on what he sees as emotional baggage is worth her time. But does Lola agree?
Bailey gives Banjo back
As soon as Mitch was seen ripping up that missing dog poster, it was obvious that Banjo’s real owner was going to surface at some point.
So it’s no real shock to see Bernie meeting a girl handing out flyers, only to find a picture of Banjo – or, to give him his proper name, Ziggy – printed upon them.
What’s slightly surprising, though, is that Bailey is insisting that the dog be returned to his rightful owner. Though Bernie soon spots the opportunity to claim some reward money that it’s hoped will fund Bailey’s trip to a science camp after she wins a school competition.
Kush makes big plans
Kat is refusing to go public about her romance with Phil while Kush’s trial is going on. Phil, though, spies a way to hurry things along by offering Kush advice on how to handle himself in prison.
There’s no word yet as to whether this tactic placates Kat. But Phil’s supposed words of reassurance end up leaving Kush feeling emotional. Hence him calling Martin to ask whether he’ll be his best man…next week! But seeing as most marriages on EastEnders end up feeling like prison sentences, I’m not sure Kush has thought this one through…
