Egypt has invited billionaire SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to visit the country after he tweeted that the pyramids were built by aliens.
The Tesla boss referenced a popular conspiracy theory that suggests humans must have been helped by extra-terrestrial life in order to build the giant structures.
The tech tycoon’s tweet read “Aliens built the pyramids obv”, which he later followed with a link to a BBC article explaining how the structures were actually built.
Raina al-Mashat, Egypt's Minister of International Co-operation, invited Mr Musk to see them first hand.

Responding on Twitter, Ms Mashat said: “I follow your work with a lot of admiration. I invite you & SpaceX to explore the writings about how the pyramids were built and also to check out the tombs of the pyramid builders. Mr Musk, we are waiting for you.”
Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass also responded to Mr Musk with a short video in Arabic saying his argument was a "complete hallucination".
There are more than 100 surviving pyramids, the most famous of which is the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. It measures more than 450ft (137m) tall.
