Another Filipino talent conquered Asia.
Shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra was named grand champion in the 1 st Asia’s Got Talent on Thursday at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Mongolian ethnic band Khusugtun came in at close second.
El Gamma Penumbra’s final performance sealed the deal after moving the judges to tears. Their final act aimed to raise awareness on environmental protection and preservation.
In an earlier interview, El Gamma said that finding the right concept has always been a challenge to them.“It’s really hard because we have different cultures and we have to touch their hearts. So, we have to think of concepts that are universal so that everyone will understand.”
The group was awarded $100,000 and will have an opportunity to perform at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Three of nine finalists who have entered the show’s grand finals are also Filipinos, namely: Gerphil Flores, an opera singer; Gwyneth Dorado, a child performer; and Junior New System, a dance crew.
