The 127 engravings of people, animals and geometric shapes are the Southeast Asian nation's oldest known artworks, but encroaching urbanisation, vandals and the ravages of nature are growing threats. The artworks have been declared a national treasure, regarded as the best proof that relatively sophisticated societies existed in the Philippines in the Stone Age. "They show that in ancient times, the Philippines did have a complex culture. Museum scientists believe the carvings date back to …

MAMBUSAO, CAPIZ - Christian group El Shaddai has endorsed three senatorial candidates running under administration's Team PNoy.

Former Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar disclosed that Bro. Mike Velarde endorsed her, and reelectionist Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III.

El Shaddai, which has a following of 6 million, is known to deliver bloc voting that can boost candidates' bid for any national post. "If the Catholic can deliver votes, since we are a predominantly Catholic country, so perhaps it's big enough," Villar told reporters.

"But this is not only about the support of El Shaddai, it's the support of the parishes of the Catholic Church," she added.

El Shaddai is one of the religious groups that belongs to the White Vote Movement, which will endorse pro-life senatorial candidates.

Villar thanked the group for considering her membership in Couples for Christ, and Family for Life since 1999. "We have worked with them for a long while so I think they considered that, that we will be supportive of the Church," she promised.

The administration senatorial bet also claimed that the White Vote Movement will also endorse six candidates from the United Nationalist Alliance.
