Sara Duterte-Carpio is an “Iron Lady” whom he would trust with his life, said presidential contender Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of his running mate, as the campaign entered its final stretch.

In a video played before supporters during their miting de avance on Thursday (April 5), Marcos praised the Davao City mayor for her leadership and for fighting criminality, according to Inquirer.

“Ipagyayabang ko na siya ay ulirang maybahay, siya ay isang ina na may tatlong anak na inaalagaan. Isang abugada na laging tumutulong sa lahat. Siya ang ating ‘Iron Lady’.” (I will boast about how she is a good wife. She is a mother who has three children to take care of. She is a lawyer who helps everyone. She is our ‘Iron Lady’)

The 64-year-old added, “Pero sa kabila ng kanyang pagiging matapang ay buong puso naman siyang nagmamahal sa mga Pilipino. Kahit buhay ko, ipagkakatiwala ko sa kanya.” (But despite her courageous nature, she wholeheartedly loves the Filipino people. I will even entrust my life to her.)

In a video released Tuesday night, the son of the late dictator called on Filipinos to head to the polling stations on Tuesday and to guard the vote.

Marcos and Duterte-Carpio will hold their last miting de avance in Parañaque City over the weekend.
