Elizabeth Hurley seems to have taken up a new hobby in lockdown. The 55-year-old has been keeping herself busy at home by getting her cook on.

Instead of baking another round of lockdown favourite banana bread, the model has been perfecting her marmalade-making skills.

Sharing an image of herself wearing a cropped, sparkly cardigan and jeans, while proudly holding up two jars of the orange preserve, Hurley explained that she had been hard at work in the kitchen.

“Lockdown has turned me into a demented housewife: 47 jars of marmalade nestling in my larder with more Seville oranges awaiting me,” she joked in the accompanying caption.

Since sharing her latest post, Hurley has been inundated with responses from fans impressed with her preserve-making skills.

While some couldn’t help but comment on the star’s ageless appearance.

“Well preserved...,” one Instagram user quipped.

“Sexiest jam maker I have ever seen - you don’t look a bit like my Granny did making jam,” another wrote.

“Marmalade never looked so good,” agreed another.

Meanwhile, Hurley’s ex Hugh Grant joked that the actor’s new skills should earn her a role in the next Paddington movie.

Retweeting her post, the actor, who starred in the sequel of the movie wrote simply: “Paddington 3”.

Hurley and Grant were one of the most famous couples of the nineties, dating from 1987 to 2000, and still keep in touch now.

But anyone hoping for a rekindling of their romance will be disappointed as Grant is happily married to TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein.

However, Hurley did recently reveal that Grant is still her “go-to person” when she needs career advice.

“I still go to him for advice on scripts, even though he’s very happily married with five children and I’m very happy in my own life, there’s still certain bits we crossover with very well,” she told People.

“And asking advice about work, he’s still my go-to person.”

Throughout this lockdown and the previous two periods of coronavirus restrictions, Hurley has used her social media accounts to keep fans updated on how she’s spending her time.

Back in June 2020, Hurley marked her 55th birthday by posing naked in a relaxing bubble bath, as you do – and her fans went wild about the resultant image.

“Happy Birthday to me,” she wrote. “This is the fifth birthday we’ve celebrated during lockdown amongst my little group - including my mother’s 80th and my son’s 18th.

“Grateful to be happy & healthy and to have the best family & friends. Here’s hoping real life starts again one day,” she added.

Last summer, the Austin Powers star got back to nature by sharing a video of herself rolling around in the grass.

Channelling her inner child, the model and actor posted a playful clip of herself relaxing in the grass dressed in a pale, blue polo shirt teamed with light grey skinny chinos as she lifted her arms above her while lying in the undergrowth.

Adding to her casual appearance, she sported a pair of white trainers and held her sunglasses in her hand.

“Lazy. Lazier. Laziest,” the star captioned the short clip.

Hurley’s model son, Damian Hurley, has been keeping the star company during lockdown.

The 18-year-old recently gave fans a shock after sharing an image to Instagram which appeared to show he’d cut off his long hair.

The snapshot showed Damian stood topless in a field while holding a camera, with his trademark long locks missing, leaving some fans believing he’d gone for the chop.

It turns out, however, he hadn’t in fact cut off his hair, but was wearing prosthetics for a project he was working on.

Setting the record straight in the accompanying caption he wrote: “Update lol: I love u [sic] guys so much hahaha but I’m not bald this is prosthetics for a new project lmao but thank u for the cute comments tempted to do it for real now.”
