Flashy Cebuano guard Eliud “Eloy” Poligrates will be rejoining the ALZA Alayon Zamboanga Del Sur in the hopes of bolstering their campaign in the ongoing Mindanao leg of the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup.
The 33-year old confirmed this, saying that team officials recently got in touch with him. Poligrates added that he will be leaving for Mindanao this weekend to rejoin the team in Pagadian.
“Of course, I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity once again,” said the native of Poro in Camotes. However, the left-handed guard admitted that he needs to get back to playing shape after staying idle for the past three weeks.
“I have to get back into shape since I haven’t played in almost three weeks,” added Poligrates.
It can be recalled that the former PBA D-League Most Valuable Player was temporarily removed from the team last month because of personal reasons. His return is a much-needed shot in the arm for the team of head coach Bong Abad especially after they struggled to put points up on the board in their 48-82 loss to Basilan last Wednesday.
In all, ALZA shot just 27% from the field with Dan Sara being the only player to score in double figures with 17 markers. (JNP)
