NEW employees have learned first aid and life support at work, while existing first aid responders have updated their skills to save lives at the workplace in various facilities and sections at Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) in Cebu.

The Environment and Safety Division (ESD) organized the training as part of the company’s Occupational First Aid Training 2022 Occupational Safety and Health Program, disclosed ESD deputy manager Dwight P. Avila.

“Taiheiyo gives prime to safety training,” he said.

“It is paramount that our employees, especially those newly hired and assigned by our contractors, know the techniques on how to respond to industrial-related injuries and undertake the right rescue methods,” he said.

Company nurse Fredbert Cortes handled the recent refresher course that Emergency Response Team members from every department attended at the company training room.
