Enough supply of pork, poultry products in Cebu, Central Visayas

CEBU still has enough supply of chicken and pork amid the Provincial Government’s ban on pork and poultry products from African Swine Fever (ASF) and Avian Influenza (AI)-affected areas.

Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary Salvador Diputado said there has been fluctuating prices of pork and poultry products, but the supply remains adequate.

"So far, sa Central Visayas, wala pata ma problema sa supply sa chicken. Adunay mga fluctuating sa iyang prices pero ang supply not a problem yet," he said.

Reelected Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said earlier that she wants to continue implementing the ban as a way to protect Cebu’s pork and poultry industry from the effects of ASF and AI or bird flu that has affected several areas in Luzon, Mindanao and parts of Eastern Visayas. (PAC)
