THE founder of Ka Entoy, also known as Entoy’s Bakasihan, in Barangay Buagsong, Cordova, Cebu died on June 15 due to acute coronary syndrome.
Florencio "Entoy" Escabas, 72, was admitted to a hospital in Lapu-Lapu City on June 14 as he felt sick. He died dawn of June 15, said his eldest daughter Ginalyn Tura.
Escabas and his eatery were made more popular after they were featured on Netflix's documentary series Street Food, which was aired in April 2019.
The eatery was built in 2002 and locals and tourists have been visiting the place due to its famous Nilarang Bakasi (soured stew with reef eels).
Tura said her father's death was sudden but they have accepted it.
She assured that she and her four siblings will continue to operate the eatery. (GCM/LMY)
