After getting fans excited last year by joking that Eraserheads might reunite, it seems that Ely Buendia has made good on his promise.
The OPM icon confirmed on Monday (September 19) that the legendary Filipino rock band will hold a reunion concert called Huling El Bimbo on December 22 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
Rumors of a reunion had already begun two days ago when the four members of the group separately posted pictures of the Eraserheads logo – a backwards "E".

Now they've confirmed it with a save-the-date announcement.
Additional details, such as ticket prices and selling dates, have not been announced so far.
Even earlier last year, rumors of an Eraserheads reunion swirled after Ely Buendia visited then vice president Leni Robredo's office to give her a limited edition of Eraserheads' 25th Anniversary Album on vinyl.
Buendia said that an Eraserheads reunion might happen if the vice president decides to run in the 2022 elections.
He said it was a joke at that time, but now that Robredo has indeed contested the presidency (although she lost), it seems that the musician did not forget his promise.
Eraserheads, consisting of Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Raymund Marasigan, and Marcus Adoro, was formed in 1989 and are considered to be one of the most influential OPM bands.
They disbanded in 2002 but performed together sporadically after that, last performing on tour from 2012 to 2014.
A reunion concert in 2008 was cut short after Ely was rushed to the hospital for chest pains.
After disbanding, the four played for different groups: Ely with Apartel, Buddy with Moonstar88, Raymund with Pedicab and Sandwich, and Marcus with Markus Highway.
