The genius of Zonta Club of Cebu 1 president Gina Atienza and her officers, board of directors and consultants have again achieved a novel, family-based project which nurtures the “Woman as the Heart of the Home,” a proactive way to abet domestic violence against women.
Nutritious food cooked with healthy ingredients makes a happy family, sharing time for dining. During a series of brainstorming for a new project to add to the existing initiatives—Adopt-a-School program, livelihood and entrepreneurial assistance to the women of Budlaan, special programs in health, education and nutrition, legal assistance, the Pink Center etc.—the Zontians opted to publish a special cookbook.
Entitled “Tasty Treasures,” the cookbook is an illustrated compilation of original, enriched and delectable “favorite” menus. This novel initiative features recipes from popular personalities, geniuses in the culinary arts, hoteliers and nutritionists. Yes, even husbands shared their cooking skills.
A fund-raising project, “Tasty Treasures” features the families, friends and partners of Zonta Club of Cebu 1. A copy costs P800, and this will go a long, long way in sustaining related advocacies in uplifting the women as the “treasures of the home.”
