If you're welcoming the arrival of autumn by planning a getaway, the travel for your trip might not be as expensive as you think. Right now, Eurostar is offering cheap seats on tickets from London to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam as part of their big sale - and you can bet we're snapping up a seat.
How cheap, you ask? Pretty damn cheap at £29 a ticket each way to Paris, Lille, Calais and Brussels, and £35 to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. If you fancy upgrading, Standard Premier tickets will be available for £7 one-way, including a light meal and refreshments and more spacious and comfortable surroundings.
Those looking to try somewhere different can choose Bruges, Antwerp or Ghent with Eurostar’s ‘Any Belgian Station’ ticket from just £39 each way, or £79 in Standard Premier. Ideal if you're indecisive.
As usual, there are a few important details to look out for. The tickets will be valid for travel for a long window - between 1 October and 17 January - so it's ideal if you fancy getting those festive Christmas market trips in. The sale won't be on for long, though; you have until 23rd September to make the most of the bargains.
It's also worth noting that the prices are based on a compulsory return trip (excluding travel to Rotterdam and Amsterdam), so no upping sticks, I'm afraid.
The final quarter of the year is the ideal time to get away, in our humble opinions. Who needs dark, cold nights in the UK when you could be eating brie, belgian chocolate or stroopwafels somewhere in Europe, instead?
We'll see you there.
