Extra something mascaras

Make-up brands are really good at re-inventing the wheel.

Often we’ll hear about a fancy new lipstick that, on closer inspection, is just a new package around the same wax/pigment blend.

Or we’ll be promised an innovative hair oil that is really just last decade’s silicone creams with an added natural component.

But some beauty products truly have something new and clever to offer.

This year sees the launch of an array of smart mascaras. So, why not try one of these two eye-opening inventions?

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Two Tone Eye-Opening Mascara

Creative Make-up Director Tom Pecheux has created a mascara based on his secret backstage technique for a beautiful, wide-eyed look: black on top, brown on bottom. For years he has been using this trick for ad shoots and on runways. Your bold upper lashes look rich, while the subtle hue on your lower fringe gives you an eye-brightening effect.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Comes with a brush specifically designed for coating the bottom lashes; the smallest on the market. The doll sized brush works great and really grabs every last little lash to give it length, colour and volume, leaving a much fuller looking lower lash area. Great for Asian lashes, too.
