THE National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas considered Stephen Corilla's case as "human error."

Senior Investigator Bienvenido C. Panican of the NBI Central Visayas told SunStar Cebu on Thursday, June 16, that this is based on their initial assessment.

Panican said the NBI had ruled out that someone really turned on the machine Corilla was working with that led to his death.

He added that they will be getting the initial statements of the witnesses by today as they start their official investigation of the incident.

Earlier on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the Mandaue City Police Office also identified a person of interest for Corilla's incident as they interviewed about ten workers who were there when the accident happened.

Corilla was killed on duty while cleaning a pulverizer machine at the Universal Robina Corp. (URC) Mandaue City plant in Barangay Tabok on June 2, 2022.
