A 26-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly introduced himself as PDEA agent was nabbed by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7).

Noel Evalle, 26, fell into the hands of the authorities around 4 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2022, during the agency's anti-illegal drug operation in Sitio Magay, Barangay Tangke, Talisay City.

Seized from him were 10 grams of substance believed to be shabu worth around P68,000 based on street value and a 9mm paltik handgun.

Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of PDEA 7, said they monitored Evalle for two weeks prior to the raid after receiving report about his illegal activities.

Alcantara said Evalle has tarnished the image of the agency for allegedly asking money and drugs from suspected drug pushers in the area using the name of PDEA.

"Gani nakurat ang atong operating team kay sa pag-raid sa iyaha duna gyuy niingon nga ayaw na hilabti sir taga PDEA na (In fact, our operating team was surprised during the raid when somebody told them 'don't touch him, he's from PDEA')," Alcantara added.

Evalle's live-in partner herself believed that Evalle was a member of PDEA due to his claim that he was an agent of the agency and it was only in March that he resigned from his job to help her parents sell fish. (BBT, TPT)
