A 49-year old farm caretaker was arrested for refusing to settle the dispute betweeen him and six minors that started since last year.

Master Sergeant Jennifer dela Peña of Aloguinsan Police Station identified the suspect as Romeo Escasinas Tabora, a native of Barangay Bonbon in Aloguinsan.

Tabora was arrested on Friday noon, June 3, 2022, by the Regional Intelligence Unit RIU and Aloguinsan Municipal Police Station based on an arrest warrant issued by Judge Judilyn Hugo Tapia Mechavez of Toledo Regional Trial Court.

A bail of P80,000 was granted by the court for his temporary liberty.

Tabora's case started when he allegedly threatened to kill the six minors who were playing volleyball in his vacant lot in Barangay Bonbon July 2021.

The bolo-wielding Tabora reportedly went wild and swayed the bladed weapon towards the minors.

Raffy Cimafranca, the father of two of the minors and uncle of the four others, reported the incident to the barangay hall.

On October 2021, the two parties were summoned to the barangay hall but Tabora refused to settle the case and ask for an apology for what he did.

Later on, the case was filed against the suspect.

Dela Peña said the six minor victims were turned over to the social workers for counseling.

Tabora will face charges in violation of RA 7610 or Child Abuse Law. (GDC, TPT)
