THE transfer of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro did not push through on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020.
Ferro said he was informed about the new development by new Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Camilo Cascolan, on Tuesday night, Sept. 8.
Cascolan, he said, told him by phone that he will stay put in the Central Visayas police force and wait for further instructions.
Ferro did not divulge the reason behind the change of decision. He was not also told how long he will stay as the PRO 7 director.
Ferro was first reported to become acting director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Southern Luzon.
As long as he is still the PRO 7 director, Ferro said he will implement the new programs of the new PNP chief.
Ferro said Cascolan told him to intensify anti-narcotics operations in Central Visayas.
The PNP officials affected by the ongoing revamp are generals who have been on their posts for over a year. Ferro has been the PRO 7 director since Feb. 6, 2020. (AYB / KAL)
