FILIPINO-AMERICAN Cameron Krael is in for another tough task inside “The Bubble” as he takes on fast-rising unbeaten knockout specialist Elvis Rodriguez in an eight-rounder on Oct. 10, 2020 (PH time) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Krael last saw action inside “The Bubble” in June. He faced undefeated prospect Bobirzhan Mominov and lost via unanimous decision.
Though just 26 years old, Krael has become a gatekeeper in the welterweight division. Some of the best up-and-comers are tested against him, if they are ready for the next level. He has faced the likes of former world champion Maurice Hooker, recently-crowned interim World Boxing Association welterweight titleholder Jamal James and one-time world title challenger Egidijus “Mean Machine” Kavaliauskas. In 36 pro bouts, Krael has fought 16 unbeaten boxers, where he won four fights, lost 11 and one was a draw.
The 24-year-old Rodriguez has been very impressive in his career that spans close to three years. He knocked out every single opponent he faced except for a technical draw against Joaquin Chavez, in which the fight was stopped in the opening round due to a huge cut above Chavez’s left eye from an accidental headbutt.
Rodriguez is coming off a huge win inside “The Bubble” with a brutal third round knockout of Cody Wilson just on Aug. 29.
Krael is 17-16-3 with four knockouts, while Rodriguez is 9-0-1 with nine knockouts.
The show is headlined by Emanuel Navarrete taking on Ruben Villa for the vacant World Boxing Organization featherweight belt. (EKA)
