She was scouted in the University of Cebu, where she caught the attention of weightlifting coach Garry Toleno.
In the Tokyo Games buildup, she captured two silvers and a bronze in the 2021 Asian Weightlifting Championships.
She is the 11th athlete of the Philippines to book a trip to the Summer Games.
