MANILA, Philippines – Timor Leste did not fail its fans four days before the end of the 30th South East Asian Games (SEA Games) as it finally bagged its first medal on Saturday (December 7).
What’s interesting is that the medal belongs to a first timer in the regional games and has trained for only seven months.
Taekwondo jin Imbrolia De Araujo Dos Reis Amorin assured a bronze medal in the women’s -57kg division to the delight especially of her Filipinos fans.
Apart from Amorin, two more medals will be awarded to Timor Leste as flyweight Jose Barreto Quintas Da Silva and light heavyweight Frederico Soares Sarmento both emerged third placers in boxing on Sunday (December 8).
The two boxers will have their chance on the podium on Monday as the boxing match ends at the PICC Forum Hall in Pasay City.
