The beauty competition, to be held at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, will see 54 candidates from Cebu’s 44 towns and nine cities vying for the coveted title.

Gracing the event will be actor, dancer, singer and songwriter James Reid, who has starred in numerous local television shows and movies. Hey Joe Show, a group of Americans who rose to fame with acts that range from American takes on Filipino customs to popular songs translated into Bisaya, will also be in attendance.

The pageant will be hosted by Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry, together with the father-son duo Edu and Luis Manzano.

Binibining Cebu’s Coronation Night follows pre-pageant activities such as the Philippine Terno Competition, Swimsuit Gala Night, and Femme Fatale: Evening Gown Competition.

The creative minds behind the pageant include world-renowned furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue as creative producer, and internationally-acclaimed fashion designer Cary Santiago as pageant chairperson.

Binibining Cebu was organized by the Bb. Sugbu Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Sacred Heart School for Boys Batch 1985 Foundation, Yahoo! Philippines, and Xionwei Technology. It aims to promote the culture of Cebu to the world, seeking a well-rounded woman to represent the Cebuana.

The winner will be given opportunities to pursue social and humanitarian causes, as well as serve as an ambassador of Cebu. Winning candidates will also walk away with a total of P2.2 million in prizes.

Tickets to the pageant, which will be held at 7.30pm at the hotel’s Pacific Grand Ballroom, are priced from P1,000 to P3,000 for reserved tickets, which are available at the Binibining Cebu Office, while free seating mezzanine tickets cost P500 and are available at all Dessert Factory and Dong Juan branches.
