Guess what? Starmobile has made a surprising move to expand its sales efforts outside of traditional retail channels by making its products available in select 7-Eleven convenience stores in the Philippines. This is a first in the country!
Starting today, you can buy a Starmobile phone or tablet in any of these 7-Eleven branches: Rotonda in Pasig City, One San Miguel Avenue in Mandaluyong, National University, Far Eastern University, University of the East, and University of Santo Tomas.
That's just the beginning of Starmobile's retail expansion. The company has revealed that at least 60 more 7-Eleven stores across the nation will sell Starmobile devices before the year ends.
Obviously, this is good news to anyone eyeing an upgrade to a Starmobile this holiday season. Besides the convenience of being able to purchase a unit at any point during the day, for seven days a week, customers won't have to brave the traffic congestion and long lines that have become synonymous with last-minute gift-shopping.
According to 7-Eleven Philippines' website, there are currently 1,183 7-Eleven stores nationwide. We doubt we'll see Starmobiles in all of those outlets, but it's good to know that at least one brand is not afraid to try out new things when it comes to retail distribution.
Here's hoping others follow suit. Who knows? Perhaps in a year or two, we'll find ourselves trooping to convenience stores for our gadget needs.
