A 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit around 78 miles off the coast of Jamaica on Tuesday, January 28, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS said the quake was recorded north-northwest of Lucea, Jamaica. Tremors were felt across much of the island, according to local media.
