Former Cebu City mayor Alvin Garcia positive for coronavirus

FORMER Cebu City mayor Alvin Garcia on Saturday, February 20, 2021, announced that he had tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease 2019.

Garcia said on his Facebook page that he experienced slight fever and nothing else.

"I was found positive [for] Covid and all symptoms I had was a slight fever, nothing else. Anyway, isolated and the fever has gone," Garcia said.

Garcia served two times as the mayor of Cebu City from 1995 to 2001.

On Thursday night, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma was brought to a private hospital in Cebu City after he tested positive for the coronavirus, Monsignor Joseph Tan, spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Cebu, confirmed.

Tan assured that Palma is not in critical condition and is only experiencing fatigue with mild cough.
