Four political parties have forged an alliance to endorse presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

The “UniTeam” formally established on Thursday (November 25) at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City, is comprised of Marcos' Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Lakas-CMD, and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP).

PFP President and South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.; HNP President and Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista; Lakas-CMD President and House Majority Leader Rep. Martin G. Romualdez; and PMP President and former Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada signed the pact.

Marcos heads PFP, while Duterte-Carpio heads both Lakas-CMD and the HNP.

“[I]n view of the shared vision of the Convenor and Partners, all parties have agreed to forge this ALLIANCE that will pave the way for unity, strength, and continued positive change for the country,” the agreement read.

The coalition also emphasized that the convenors and partners of the agreement “seek a peaceful and democratic way of life for their constituency, with their leaders establishing programs geared towards ensuring the establishment and maintenance of communities characterized by a strong nation and secured life for all— where freedom is upheld, men and women practice tolerance, individual dignity and the rule of law is observed."

It noted that all parties, including their partners, recognize the need of achieving this common objective through uniting political organizations.

The alliance also vowed to continue the fight against the pandemic, work toward national unity and boosting the economy, as well as address other major issues confronting the Philippines.

All key persons from the four political organizations attended the ceremony, apart from Mayor Duterte, who sent a video message, and Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., her co-chairperson at Lakas-CMD.

"The UniTeam has done something remarkable in a time when political noise and bickering drown the issues and problems confronting the Filipino people — that is, to forge a partnership as one organization, setting aside political rivalries and differences, to become strong partners of the people and the nation. Our alliance is built on friendship, trust, and the commitment to serve the Filipinos and the country," Duterte said in her message.
