TO HELP college students of the Fifth District of Cebu adapt to the new normal in educational system, two Cebuano local officials announced that they will be giving away free electronic devices to five selected college students.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Fifth District Representative Duke Frasco and his wife, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, announced on Saturday, August 29, 2020, that they will provide five tablet computers to five chosen college students in Cebu Province's Fifth District.
"Education has always been our number one priority. We believe it is important to give our youth every opportunity to succeed despite and especially in these extraordinary times," Duke said.
"Apart from our scholarship program and the upcoming universities for the district, we hope that arming our students with the right tools will give them hope and inspire them to carry on," he added.
To identify the would-be tablet recipients, the Frascos have come up with mechanics and steps that interested college students must follow.
To join, interested college student must go to Instagram and follow the Duke Frasco Instagram page, then follow the Christina Frasco Instagram Page and the Team Frasco Instagram page.
He or she must also tag five of his or her friends on Instagram and comment on Duke Frasco's #TeamFrascoGiveaway post why obtaining an education is important to him or her. This mechanics run from August 29 to September 10, 2020.
"To qualify, you must be a college student and resident of any of the LGUs of the Fifth District of Cebu: Liloan, Compostela, Danao City, Carmen, Catmon, Sogod, Borbon, San Francisco, Tudela, Poro, Pilar," he said.
The giveaway will end on September 10, 2020 and the names of the five winners will be announced on September 12 at 8 p.m. via Frasco's Instagram.
He said no government funds were used in the purchase of the giveaways. (WBS)
