Game between Basilan, Roxas halted due to slippery floor

FOR the second time in the Mindanao leg of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup, a match has had to be stopped because of unsafe playing conditions.

This, as the game between the Jumbo Plastic-Basilan and Petra Cement-Roxas was halted with over nine minutes remaining in the third because of the slippery court. Prior to that, Peace Rider Michael Juico slipped badly and was slow to get up.

Rain has been falling heavily at the Ipil Provincial Gymnasium since the middle of the first game between Pagadian and Zamboanga City. The halftime break took a longer because league officials tried to address the floor issues by mopping all they could.

However, it proved to be for naught as the game had to be stopped with 9:15 left in the third and Roxas up by one, 40-39.

Last Friday, July 9, the tilt pitting Iligan-Zambo del Sur was also cancelled due to the same reason. (JNP)
