Germany must adapt to win the World Cup, says Low

Joachim Low has underlined the importance of preparation ahead of Germany's World Cup 2014 campaign.

The Nationalelf sit comfortably at the top of their qualifying group with 16 points, five clear of Austria, Sweden and Republic of Ireland, and will be expected to progress to the competition in Brazil but the coach stressed that his players will need to cope with some unfamiliar conditions amid the carnival atmosphere if they are to secure a fourth world title.

"We must adjust, and tactically too," the 53-year-old told SID. "The Central and South Americans have an advantage but I'm not too worried as we have some time before the tournament to adapt to the location. Good physical conditioning is essential for success.

"We certainly will not be able to change our style of play so we must try to get the players on site as quickly as possible.

"Organisationally it is also very difficult," Low added, alluding to the size of the country.

Despite the protests that have rocked Brazil during the Confederations Cup, the Germany boss also spoke enthusiastically about the prospect of a World Cup being hosted there.

"The joy of the Brazilians in football is a wonderful thing no matter where you go," the former Freiburg player added. "The stadiums are full - it is incredible feeling for me and the anticipation ahead of the World Cup has risen to a higher level.

"It is understandable if the people are protesting for more education and better living conditions."
