BARANGAY Ginebra’s star guard Stanley Pringle says he’s appreciative of the recognition he’s getting, especially after getting nominated for the Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference award.
Pringle is one of six players who are vying for the coveted individual award. The rest of the field includes Phoenix’s Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva, TNT’s Bobby Ray Parks and Roger Pogoy and Terrafirma’s CJ Perez.
“I’m always going to appreciate any award, even any recognition for any award. I’m always going to appreciate that,” said Pringle in an appearance on the show, The Game on One News.
Pringle finished sixth in the statistical points (SP) race with his 34.8 SPs.
However, he played a huge role in helping Ginebra vanquish TNT in the Philippine Cup finals where he averaged an even 20 points, thus meriting his selection to the BPC discussion.
Appreciative as he is of being considered for the prestigious individual honor, Pringle said team success supersedes everything.
“At the end of the day, I just want to put my focus on helping the team win. Hopefully, everybody feels the same way,” Pringle said. / JNP
