11 Oct – GMA-7's Ruth Marinas recently dismissed the idea that the new Kapuso musical variety show show, "Studio 7" did not include singer Regine Velasquez because of her supposed future transfer to ABS-CBN.
As reported on PEP, Marinas, who is the network's production unit manager, stated that she has no detailed information about GMA-7's contract negotiation with Velasquez, but that the singer's non-involvement has nothing to do with her rumoured transfer.
"When [this show] was conceptualised, I learned personally that Regine has a US tour. She left after "The Clash", so she really wasn't in the line-up because she was leaving. She was in the United States for two weeks," she said.
The executive stated that the network knew that Velasquez wouldn't have been able to fit the new show in her schedule.
On the other hand, Marinas stated that the singer has recently expressed delight over the outcome of her previous aforementioned show.
Rumours of Velasquez's transfer to ABS-CBN sparked as early as August, with some speculating that she will be joining husband Ogie Alcasid - a Kapamilya himself - following her US tour.
The speculations were further fuelled by Velasquez's appearance at the ABS-CBN Ball earlier this month.
