Gullas to establish e-learning centers in all Talisay barangays

THE Talisay City Government wants to put up e-learning centers in all its barangays.

Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas said an e-learning center has already been established in Barangay Bulacao, while another one is undergoing construction beside the barangay gymnasium in Tabunok.

"We continue to do that because we want to put learning centers closer. Ga hinay-hinay lang ta kay wala may mga klase pag pandemic (we just slowed down as there were no classes during the pandemic)," Gullas said.

He added that now is the right time to fast-track the project as face-to-face classes have already started.

The electronic learning center is designed for elementary and high school students who are going to make a research for their school assignments.

The center is free of charge.

"Butangan na dinha ug computers nga naay internet, mao nay importante (Computers with internet connections will be placed there (at the E Learning center), that’s what is important," Gullas said.

Gullas said he wanted all the barangays to have their own e-learning center especially in the upland areas where Wi-Fi signal is poor.

He said they will give priority to barangays that have available space for the construction of e-learning center.

Gullas announced that the program is funded by the Talisay City Government, but he added that they will also welcome businessmen in the city who would want to help. (BBT, TPT)
