Hailstorm Hits Drought-Stricken Queensland Town

A hailstorm hit Clifton in regional south-east Queensland in the afternoon of October 11.

Jacky McCulkin said the region got 12ml of moisture in the one deluge after a near-dry start to the year.

“(We got) 16ml from January til September, September we got 15(ml) and in October we got 8(ml) and then today was 12(ml),” she said.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a storm warning for much of eastern Queensland on October 11.
