Tens of thousands of National Guard troops were deployed to Washington ahead of the inauguration of Joe Biden after Trump supporters breached Capitol security on January 6.

Footage by Brendan Gutenschwager shows National Guard troops on Black Lives Matter Plaza and at a military checkpoint in front of the Hotel Harrington in Washington on Tuesday morning, January 19. Security fencing and barricades were also up around government buildings.

A public access map released by the Secret Service on January 17 listed road and bridge closures around the capital.
