The bad news related to COVID-19 have been the headliners in the past week: from KTV clusters to fishmongers forced to pause their businesses due to possible exposure at the Jurong Fishery Port. Not only are livelihoods severely affected by dine-in restrictions and business closures, but our food source is also now impacted.
However, as with all things, there's always a silver lining when we look hard enough. Did you know that you can get fresh and frozen fish online? For those of you who love fish and seafood, here's where you can buy them online.
If there is only one online fish merchant to go to, I will pick Kühlbarra. I first had a taste of the barramundi’s exquisite meat at my sister’s steamboat dinner. Kühlbarra passed its smell, sight, texture and taste tests with flying colours. The barramundi belly looked so fresh, had no foul smell, was firm when held with chopsticks and melted in my mouth. It was THE tastiest fish meat I had ever tried in my life! You know how it feels when you partake in something absolutely delicious? I was instantly in love and my experience totally debunked the notion that the freshest fish can only be bought from wet markets!
Upon further investigation, I discovered, to my delight, that not only is Kühlbarra a sustainable brand, it is also Singapore's only deep-sea ocean farm. As one of the world's largest sustainable Barramundi deep-sea aquaculture farm, it prides itself on its farm-to-fork model. Kühlbarra barramundi is harvested and processed to order and delivered via an unbroken cold chain to ensure optimal freshness. And according to their website, their products are "100 per cent growth hormone and antibiotic-free”. Definitely reassuring to hear!

A squirrel feeding from the lap of a Maine woman made some funny noises as it nibbled on its breakfast.Susannah Warner captured this video while at Moxie Pond, and she says she’s become familiar with both this squirrel and another that lives in the area. The duo, Warner said, " argue so much" that she’s dubbed them “the Bickersons”.The footage, which Warner said she captured on July 1, shows one of the squirrels eating some nuts left on Warner’s lap, and beginning to make a chirping sound.A further chirping sound is heard as another squirrel is seen dashing in front of Warner’s legs, soon after which the one on her lap makes a swift exit.Warner believes the sound emanating from the squirrels is the pair arguing.“They especially argue over breakfast, so I thought if I let one eat in my lap, maybe they wouldn’t bicker. I was wrong,” she said. Credit: Susannah Warner via Storyful

Now, FullStory, one of the startups that's built a platform to identify when all of the above happens and provide suggestions to publishers for fixing it -- it's obsessed enough with the issue that it went so far as to trademark the phrase "Rage Clicks", the focus of its mission -- is announcing a big round of funding, a sign of its success and ambitions to do more. The Atlanta-based company has closed a Series D round of $103 million, an oversubscribed round that actually was still growing between me interviewing the company and publishing this story (when we talked last week the figure was $100 million). Permira's growth fund -- which has previously invested in other customer experience startups like Klarna and Nexthink -- is leading this round, with previous investors Kleiner Perkins, GV, Stripes, Dell Technologies Capital, Salesforce Ventures, and Glynn Capital also participating.
The model won't come to the U.S., the expectation being Toyota will opt to give us the more luxurious Lexus LX version. It's certain some of the tech appearing on the new Cruiser will make its way to other Toyota vehicles, though, so it's worth a look. Engineers also placed the new engines lower and further back in the body, giving the high-boy truck a lower center of gravity.
South Africa's Electoral Commission will on Wednesday apply to the Constitutional Court for municipal elections to be postponed from October, after an inquiry recommended a delay because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Commission Chair Glen Mashinini told a news conference that all necessary documents had been prepared for the application, and a new date would be sought to hold the elections before the end of February -- tentatively the last Wednesday of the month. The municipal elections will test the electorate's sentiment following the COVID-19 pandemic and unrest triggered by the jailing of former President Jacob Zuma after he failed to appear before an anti-corruption inquiry.
