THE prolific duo of Sam Hermosa and Jam Ferraren proved to be unstoppable, as they lifted Batch 2006 past 2000 in Division 1 action in the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Alumni Inter-Batch Basketball Tournament at the USPF gym last Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Hermosa had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Ferraren added 22 points and six boards to lead their squad to the win.
In other Division 1 matches, 1998 edged 2001, 85-79, as Keith Andaya topscored for the winning side with 22 points. Jason Bartolabac helped out with his 18 points and 10 boards, while Peter Tabasa added 14 markers, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The 2001, however, bounced right back, and won over 2005, 97-86, with John Pacienca pacing them with his 33 points and nine rebounds. Godfrey Cosido also did well with his 28 markers, while Earl Perez submitted solid numbers with 15 points.
In Division 2, Batch 1994 routed 1993, 107-73, as Ivan Cababahay fired in 27 points, while Benjie Remata backed him up with 18. The 1991 meanwhile, won over 1996, 88-78, with Christian Bacus leading the charge with 30 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The 1992 also won over 1995, 83-71, with Edward Bauzon putting up 12 points and Richard Bauzon adding 10 points, four boards and two assists. (JNP)
