High-value individual nabbed; P20.4-M shabu seized

A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly peddling drugs on Sombria Road, Barangay Lawaan 1, Talisay City, Cebu on Saturday evening, June 18, 2022.

Lieutenant Elwood Ebona, chief of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Talisay Police Station, identified the suspect as Lyndon Ylanan Rongasan, native of Barangay Sta Ana, Metro Manila and currently residing along Saint Jude Street, Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City, Cebu

Ebona said that they conducted the buy-bust operation against Rongasan in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Visayas.

He said the suspect was listed as a high-value individual (HVI).

Ebona said around 10:16 p.m. of June 18, 2022, Talisay Police Station-Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation against Rongasan.

Recovered from the suspect were two large packs and six plastic sachets containing alleged shabu, P1000 marked money, P750 cash believed to be the proceeds from the illegal drug trade and drug paraphernalia.

Ebona said the buy-bust operation was in relation to Oplan Limpyo Talisay and the Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations/Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations that resulted in the arrest of drug personality and confiscation of an estimated three kilograms of shabu with a standard drug price of P20,400,000.00.

The suspect will be facing charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (GDC)
