THE chief of hospital of the Department of Health (DOH) Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (TRC)-Cebu City has expressed hopes that the Cebu Provincial Government will donate the lot surrounding the Eversley ChildsSanitarium and General Hospital in Mandaue City, particularly where their rehabilitation facility for females is currently situated.

Dr. Jasmin Peralta, DOH TRC-Cebu City chief of hospital, told reporters Monday, September 19, 2022, that the less than a hectare rehabilitation facility has been serving not just female Cebuanos but also drug and alcoholic dependents and those with comorbidities from the whole of Visayas, Mindanao, and Luzon.

Peralta hopes that the ownership issue with the lot occupied by the aforementioned hospital and surrounding lots with an estimated total area of 25.554 hectares will soon be resolved.

She said the DOH TRC-Cebu City is the first and only exclusive female facility in the whole country for females helping the victims of drugs.

The Cebu Provincial Legal Office on September 8 issued a demand letter addressed to those occupying the lot area to vacate and deliver the peaceful possession to the province within 15 days from receipt of the letter.

The Eversley ChildsSanitarium and General Hospital, however, is yet to issue an official statement as the management would still have to convene on the matter. (MKG)
